I have found the easiest thing to do is to start with the bedding. Typically it will give you some inspiration for what to use for color on the walls, ceiling, etc… Don’t worry too much about coordinating the room with the rest of your home’s decor. I believe the private spaces in homes can be more personal.

My own teenaged son likes to play paint ball among other sports so I painted a logo from one of the companies who makes the equipment. It is not too over the top and the graphic look helps to make it feel like something more adult than adolescent.
