I looked behind me and “OH MY GOODNESS!!!” The areas I had cut in were literally creeping back down the wall! I have never seen a paint sag like that before! Great. By that point it was too set up to try and brush the drips out. Nothing to do but wait for it to dry and SAND them out. (I really hate sanding, btw. I wish I could convey to you exactly how much I hate sanding but I can’t think of a good analogy just now although ‘digging out a splinter with a butter knife” sounds about right). Sigh.
And for such thick paint I could not understand how I ended up with paint splatter on my arms when rolling. I swear that paint was flying off the roller and on to me and not so much on the walls. Hmm… Never had that problem when I used paint from Seven’s…
What started out as an easy project just turned nightmarish. The excellent coverage I had hoped for when I was cutting in disappeared after it dried. So it took two more coats (it was a dark green) to cover. The satin finish she had selected looked so glossy that I could see myself in the reflection.
Would I ever use that sticky, glue-like, yet splattery, shiny excuse for paint again? Absolutely NOT!
If I hadn’t had so many positive painting experiences prior to that nightmare I never would have picked up a brush again! What a shame.
The experience cured me of every considering using another paint other than one that came from Seven’s.
So the next time you get ready to purchase paint, stop by Seven’s and talk to one of our people about your project. We can answer your questions. We can give you tips for making it easier. We can mix a color you love in a paint you will love to paint with. And if you really hate painting we will listen, sympathize, and then let you know you are not alone.
And remember using a premium paint costs about 15 cents a square foot. Isn’t a premium paint worth it to avoid problems? Isn’t it worth your valuable time to gather some tips and tricks from Seven’s to make painting more efficient? Isn’t it worth it to totally transform your space with a fantastic new color and a less painful painting experience?
Just so you know, I am not making up the 15 cents. Here is the math:
Average room size: 11 x 14 with 8 foot ceilings = 400 square feet of wall space
Cost for a gallon of premium paint: Approximately $60.00
$60.00 / 400 = $.15 per square foot.
